From Le theatre du monde, ou, Novvel atlas. Which contains maps by numerous cartographers, as well as Willem and Joan Blaeu. Willem Blaeu died in 1638 so most of his maps were in fact published by his son Joan. From early on Willem Janszoon Blaeu wanted to publish an atlas that would compete with the Hondius-Jansson Atlas. Blaeu was able to realize his plan soon after he had acquired the copper plates of the atlas maps of Jodocus Hondius. This atlas is also know as "Theatrum orbis terrarum." Maps are in Latin.
